Start Diving with LearnScubaToday!

This site is a resource for the new "Phoenix (Arizona) Scuba Diver".  We thank you for your interest and for considering us as a training option. This site's goal is to give you all the information necessary to make the right decision in choosing a training facility to learn how to Scuba dive.

It's time to go diving!

You’ve seen it in movies; your friends talk about it; perhaps you remember Sea Hunt from your youth and always dreamed of exploring the underwater world.  Scuba diving is more than just recreation; it is the doorway to a new world. This new world is filled with creatures and forms completely foreign to most of us.

The fact is we know more about outer space than we know about our oceans. Yet, the oceans are wide open for the common person to explore.  And, while thousands of people join the ranks of Scuba diving every month, still less than 1% of the Earth’s population enjoy the most adventurous recreation in the world today.

Now it is your chance to be a 21st century explorer. You, too, can explore the great unknown and take the plunge.  Scuba diving is safe, enjoyable, and attainable.

Welcome to a Lifetime of Adventure!

What you will do
Throughout the course, you will learn the fundamentals of Scuba diving including dive equipment, safety protocols, and techniques.  You earn the Open Water Scuba Diver rating by completing three parts of the course (1) Classroom Knowledge Development, (2) Confined Water (Pool) Sessions, and (3) Open Water (Lake or Ocean) Training Dives.

As a certified Open Water Diver, you will have the freedom to dive, around the world, with a buddy, independent of a dive professional. Your dive certification card will become your passport to adventure!

How long it takes
Academy of Scuba Dive Programs are performance based.  You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you.  However, normally you will have two nights of class, two (1/2) days in the pool, and two days in the open water.  Please discuss your schedule with your instructor for exact times and dates.

How to get started.
Virtually anyone who is in good heath, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn an Open Water Diver certification. Junior Open Water Divers start at an early age of 10, although special requirements are mandated for minors under 15.
